Photography

Background

Amanda Hovey has been a professional photographer since 2002, with a lifelong passion for storytelling through imagery. From early experiments at gatherings and during travel to intentional explorations of perception, photography has always been more than a profession—it has been a way of life.

Rooted in fine art photography, Amanda began her career learning traditional darkroom techniques that shaped her eye, patience, and respect for craft. The anticipation of watching an image slowly emerge in the darkroom—through toning, emulsion transfers, and hands-on experimentation—continues to influence her work today.

Amanda began her photography career in Los Angeles, California, and continued her fine art studies through PCNW in Seattle over 22 years ago. As digital photography evolved, it expanded both capture and post-production into a world of creative possibility, allowing her to blend classical artistry with modern tools and techniques.

Her passion for photography has led to teaching opportunities, awards, creative collaborations with other studios, and helping businesses grow through thoughtful visual storytelling. In 2006, she founded her own photography business, opening the door to international opportunities, meaningful collaborations, and the flexibility to build a career aligned with both art and life.

Now based in Galveston, Texas, Amanda continues her adventurous approach to photography—reflecting each client’s unique zest for life through fine art photography and custom graphic design work.

Photography has always been—and continues to be—her life’s work.

When you’re ready to collaborate, Amanda would be honored to work with you.

Cheers to keeping the art of photography alive.
